Since 1991, Vantage has shaped an industry that allows rural communities to have access to specialty surgery procedures that would have traditionally been sent to more populated areas. This continues to result in patients accessing complete care in their own community, within an environment they know and trust.

Under the leadership of founder and industry icon Ann Deters, Vantage emerged as a premier source for cataract services by delivering state-of-the-art cataract surgery equipment, IOLs, instrumentation, disposables, expert staff, and supplies, that enable hospitals, surgery centers, and physicians to provide local communities with the highest quality cataract surgery experience.

Vantage continues to expand its cataract practice under its Vantage Clear program and its gastroenterology practice under its Vantage GI program. The company will continue to deploy its model and expertise within other specialty areas.

CHRISTOPHER SWING

President & Chief Executive Officer

Christopher Swing, President of Vantage Surgical Solutions assumed the mantle of CEO in August 2023. With over 11 years of dedicated service to Vantage Surgical Solutions, Christopher is committed to enhancing patient experiences and building lasting relationships between patients, providers, and healthcare institutions.

Under his leadership, Vantage Surgical Solutions has become a trusted name in the healthcare industry, making specialty procedures more accessible and convenient for patients. The company’s core solution, Vantage Clear, has significantly improved the eyesight of over 25,000 Americans each year, demonstrating their dedication to quality eye care.

Christopher brings a wealth of financial experience, having served as CFO for six years. He was also a Senior Manager of Cost at Pinnacle Foods and holds a position on the Board of Directors at Peoples Bank & Trust.

Christopher’s dedication to education is evident through his role as an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Illinois University, where he shared his knowledge and mentored students in managing manufacturing environments and continuous improvement strategies and served as a Lake Land College Student Ambassador from 1999 to 2001.

Christopher Swing’s multifaceted career reflects his commitment to excellence in healthcare, finance, education, and community engagement. His leadership at Vantage Surgical Solutions continues to significantly impact the healthcare industry, offering accessible and high-quality specialty procedures to patients and healthcare providers.

SEAN O’DONNELL

Chief Growth Officer

Sean O’Donnell is a healthcare industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare services arena. His extensive experience in sales management and execution of business development strategies coupled with his strategic operational insights ideally position him to lead Vantage’s growth strategies. He does this by being a servant leader that inspires deep client relationships, customer-driven marketing initiatives, creates exceptional customer journeys, and drives products and services that delight both current and future customers and markets.

Prior to Vantage, Sean has held leadership positions at companies including Shearwater Health, Trinisys, Restore Rehabilitation, Conduent, Optum and Gwinnett Health System. Throughout his career, he led highly effective sales and marketing teams and participated in the development and execution of new business that resulted in multiple transactions.

Sean is married with three children and lives in Brentwood, Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

JANICE CARPENTER

Vice President, Finance

Janice Carpenter is an experienced and goal-oriented financial manager with a demonstrated track record leading the preparation and analysis of financial reports to summarize and forecast the company’s financial position. She began her career working for an international catalog business where she spearheaded the implementation of technology that integrated the sales and accounting systems to streamline the inventory management and sales process. She joined Vantage in 2013 as a financial manager, where she leads the preparation and analysis for financial reports and has served on the implementation and continuing support team for software integration for Salesforce/Financial Force. 

Janice holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University. She has served on a community Board Committee for Big Brothers Big Sisters where she prepped and organized several fundraisers and served as a volunteer for her community.

Chris Fields

RVP, Sales

As Regional Vice President of Sales, Chris Fields brings over twenty years of healthcare experience in serving customers’ needs with an extensive background in the medical device and pharmaceuticals industry. For Vantage, Chris leads a team of highly skilled sales professionals supporting the growth initiatives of the company throughout the Northeast and Southeast and has been instrumental in securing a strong presence in NC, SC, VA, and GA.

In his current role as Regional Vice President of Sales, he leads the South and US expansion of Vantage’s core markets. When not on the road or in a surgical suite, Chris is enjoying time with his wife, son and daughter, hunting and fishing..

Addison Owen

RVP, Sales

During his two decades of service with Vantage, Add Owen has served as a consultative partner to hospitals, surgical facilities, and surgeons. His extensive clinical background and vast technical knowledge began as a Surgical Coordinator for Vantage in 2003 and positions him to quickly connect with surgeons and facility clinical staff to bring ophthalmology surgery solutions to their communities.

In his current role as Regional Vice President of Sales, he leads the Northern and Midwest expansion of Vantage’s core markets. When not on the road or in a surgical suite, Add keeps order as an NCAA and High School Football Official and enjoys fishing.

John Grant

RVP, Sales, National Accounts

With extensive experience in the Ophthalmology and Gastroenterology arena, John brings a wealth of knowledge and deep relationships with large health systems and vendors.

Prior to joining Vantage Surgical Solutions, John served as a Division President of Operations for AMSURG, where he had P&L responsibility for over 100 ambulatory surgery centers. In addition, his expertise has extended to small hospital operations, including having served as a Hospital CEO for HealthTrust/Columbia/HCA.

John Grant is not only a seasoned professional in the healthcare sector but also a dedicated family man. Married to Mary for 37 years, John is a proud father of three children and a grandfather to one granddaughter, with a grandson on the way in March. He resides in Nashville, TN, and will be based in the Brentwood office, focusing on strengthening relationships with large regional and national healthcare chains.

Robin Garland

Clinical Manager

Robin Garland is a Certified Surgical Technologist and leverages her extensive experience in the surgical environment to create ideal experiences for Vantage customers and their patients. Robin proudly served in the United States Navy and has since leveraged that experience to “lead from the front” where she develops fluid teams, cultivates winning attitudes, exceeds goals and expectations, and delivers outstanding customer experiences.

Robin has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and believes that everything is ultimately “sales”, and that relationship building is the key to success. Outside of work, Robin is an active participant in animal rescue with a focus on her breed of choice, the Australian Cattle Dog.

Nate Rhinehart

Clinical Manager

Nate Rhinehart is a customer-focused professional with over 10 years of operational and sales leadership success. As a clinical manager for Vantage, he drives a culture of superior client satisfaction. He has attracted and motivated a team of like-minded, dedicated, and hardworking individuals who share the same level of passion for delighting the customer.

Nate holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and started his professional career as a Personal Training Director where he helped countless people achieve their personal goals.

Bec Söll

Clinical Specialist

Bec Söll was born and raised in rural Iowa.  She embarked on her academic journey early, attending William Penn College as a high school senior majoring in Chemistry. She graduated high school with a record number of credits, paving the way for her college education funded by her hometown.

Her career kicked off in 2000 as an EMT and travel CNA and ED-Tech, a path she followed until entering nursing school in 2004. Alongside her medical endeavors, Bec co-founded a successful residential and commercial cleaning company in 2001, overseeing operations in three communities until 2015. With a penchant for construction, she developed a background in remodeling and house flipping.

Bec’s educational pursuits were relentless. Between 2004 and 2006, she obtained an AA, AS, and an ADN from Indian Hills Community College in just two years. Her RN career included roles in CAH ED and surgery departments, PACU, surgical assist, and endoscopy. A few years later, she transitioned to diverse roles, working in a Level One ED, rural EDs, and serving as ICU Float and Med-Surg Float from 2010 to 2013.

After a brief retirement in 2013 to focus on family and attain the NASM certification, Bec opened an athletic club, Rugged Trail Transformations, to serve those in her community. In 2015, she joined Vantage, delving into sales which will empower her to manage the Vantage best practices implementation process for new clients. She continues to research the ever evolving medical field, staying on top of innovations, standards of practices, and community needs.

Personally, Bec is married and a devoted parent to two. Bec’s interests span travel, gardening, cooking, reading, DIY projects, festivals, and music. A fitness enthusiast, she has completed several half marathons, with dreams of a marathon and a month-long trip to Alaska on her bucket list.
